Hello parents!
We had a great time last week meeting the firefighters and seeing the fire truck, and learning about fire safety in class. I'm sure you had little fire safety experts showing you "stop, drop, and roll" or asking about a family fire plan. They all had a great time with this topic! I apologize to the T/Th kiddos as we ran out of time Thursday and did not get to share our show and tell items. (We had a fire drill and a special visitor!) I promised them we would still do it, however, so plan for a make up show and tell this Tuesday. This will be a free choice show and tell, so the children can bring a fire safety related item if they want, or any other item that has special meaning for them. M/W/F kids will have their next show and tell the following week on Friday, when we will be discussing health and nutrition.
This week we will be exploring pumpkins, harvest, and of course, Halloween! Our dramatic play center will change into a costume shop for the week, so if you have any old Halloween or dress up costumes you wouldn't mind us using, it would be great to have some new garments to explore. I would also like to have a pumpkin for each class to examine, inside and out! So if two parents - one from T/Th and one from M/W/F - could bring in a pumpkin on Tuesday and Wednesday I would really appreciate it. If you can help with this, please reply to this loop and let me know. Thank you!!
I look forward to a fun week and am excited to see all the children in their costumes! We have been talking about our costumes for some time now, so I know they are excited too.
Thanks so much for all you do!
Christina
