Hi everyone!
Today, we began week 2 of our unit on My Healthy Body. A
large focus will be
placed on exploring our world through our 5 senses. We
have songs to help us
learn/remember the 5 senses and a wide variety of
sensory experiences available
throughout the week. I plan to have a sandbox
treasure hunt, collect dirt
specimens and examine them, provide feely cups
and smelly jars for small groups,
and art projects that will require multiple
senses.
**Does anyone have a popcorn popper with a clear top that allows
you to see the
kernels pop? This would be an exciting snack experience that
would use all 5
senses! I would love to borrow it for Thursday & Friday
if possible!
We also expanded our Doctor's Office into a Vet's Office.
The children today
were very interested in learning how to care for our
stuffed animal patients.
On a side note, Friday will begin our Cornestone
Community Circle events! These
special days are intended to enhance the
entire school's sense of community by
including all classes in a single
activity. (More information to come from our
wonderful Director).
I am
in charge of planning the first event for THIS FRIDAY! The whole school
will
be taking part in a Messy Paint Day out on the playground from 11:30-Noon.
I
will have several painting stations set out for the children to choose
from
and rotate through. The stations include (and are not limited to):
colored
shaving cream paint table, watercolors on the small picnic benches,
spray bottle
art on the fences, special sponge art, box painting, and a
paint-a-friend
station. PLEASE send your children in with clothes and shoes
that can get messy,
change of clothes, and a grocery bag!
I would love
to have a parent (in addition to my helper on Friday) to come in at
11am to
help me set up the stations. Please email me off-loop if you would be
willing
to help! :)
Looking forward to a great week & an extra fun
Friday!
Christy
Hi, I came across this post and would like to share information about popcorn for kids younger than 4 years old. Many people arent aware, but according to the AAP, it's a choking hazard and should be avoided. Have a great day :)
