Ms. Christy's Class- Staying Healthy

Hello Everyone!
 
What an eventful two weeks learning about Being Safe through discussing firefighters and fire trucks! Our special visitors from the DFD really brought the theme to life and fueled the imaginations of the 2's and 3's! Thanks to the parents who let us borrow some items for our dramatic play area and those who went the extra mile to coordinate our snacks to the theme. I am so blessed to have such dedicated parents present in the classroom. THANK YOU!! We will have a police car visit the school this week- more details to come!
 
This week will kick off a two week unit on Staying Healthy. We will be exploring topics related to doctors, nurses, our bodies, and dental hygiene. I have many play experiences planned to teach about germs, plaque, staying healthy through
cleanliness and being fit during our outside time.
 
Next week, we will expand the unit to Our Five Senses. I'd love to make "Feely Cups" to address our sense of touch- I recently added large tube socks to my wish list. If anyone has some large socks a drinking cup could fit inside in good shape, feel free to bring them in this week!
